I've left a couple of "Improvement:" comments around the code to indicate what I think would make it better or more "production"-ready. These could be good places to start for anyone interested in contributing. I've created GitHub Issues for the most pressing things that need to be addressed before this could be merged into QMK - if you're interested in helping out, please do take a look!
